Burger King expands pop-up plant-based business in Central America


Burger King continues efforts to address meatless diets globally by opening new pop-up restaurant in Costa Rica

ZUG, Switzerland. August 2022 – Burger King®, a longtime leader in fast food innovation, continues to expand a series of well-received plant-based pop-up restaurants in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) with a new location. Burger King® San Pedro opens August 25 in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is one of the best performing vegetable markets in Latin America and the Caribbean for Burger King®, based on Veggie Whopper sales at company outlets. The San Jose pop-up follows the brand’s recent launch of its first LAC pop-up in Santiago, Chile, as well as its new 100% vegan pop-up in Vienna, Austria. The San Jose pop-up menu will include Veggie Nuggets, Veggie Whopper® and Veggie King, a plant-only menu while maintaining the same Burger King flavor we all know.
