Welwyn Garden City Film Society’s second show of the current season will take place on Sunday, October 16.
The company, now in its 76th year, will feature acclaimed Japanese director Hirokazu Koreeda The truth at Screen 3 – the main theater – at Campus West Cinema at 7:30 p.m.
With his last film, Koreeda ventures away from Japanese movies to the Parisian enclave of a French movie star, to explore the fallout when she publishes her memoir.
Mother and daughter, Fabienne and Lumir, are played by Catherine Deneuve and Juliette Binoche, whose husband is played by Ethan Hawke.
All of this season’s shows – some including a short film or discussion – can be seen at Campus West Cinema Screen 3 for a membership fee of just £40, and students £20. There is nothing else to pay.
Non-members can attend any show, as guests, for £7. All shows take place on Sundays and begin at 7:30 p.m.
For more information on membership, email the Membership Secretary, Viv Wearing, at [email protected], visit the society’s website at www.wgcfs.org.uk, or just drop by at any show.
